ROSE HOUSE, TAUNTON
This early 1970s house is a full modernisation and refit. It is insulated to well above the minimum standards, it has modern double glazing, a new heating system, low wattage lighting and is completly networked.
The secondary heatsource in the lounge is a Bio- Ethanol stove. Materials from the demolision work were dressed and reused in the new work. A second phase of fitting PV cells and Solar Thermal was completed in 2011.
With regular maintenance a building will only last for around 50 years without being updated. electrics, heating and nowadays insulation have to be uprated.
This is the time to modernize the interior.
